Aaron Edward Bailey, 74, passed away on March 30, 2023 in Lake Jackson, Texas from undiagnosed congestive heart failure.
He leaves behind his three children, Michelle Findley (husband Jason), James Bailey (wife Erica), and Sara Wright (husband Rick); 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Guillot (John); brother, Jerry Don Bailey (Sherri); sister, Edith Hastings (Gary); and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rafel Bailey, Sr.; mother, Ponnie Onita Weaver; sister, Virginia Burkett; and brother, Ray Bailey, Jr.
Aaron was born October 16, 1948 to Ponnie and Rafel Bailey, Sr. A graduate of Sweeny High School class of 1967, he remained in the area most of his life. He was in the Army from 1969-1971, spending time in Germany. He received, but declined, an invitation to West Point. He was a jack of all trades but a master of concrete, following in the footsteps of his dad, Rafel, and Uncle Bryan. He taught his son, James, the business and at one time three generations of Baileys poured concrete together throughout Brazoria County.
Aaron was a friend to all and stranger to none. He spent his days in perpetual motion - working, helping others, tinkering and stopping at every estate sale, garage sale or pile of junk he came across. He had an impressive collection and could fix just about anything except himself, though he tried many times over the years. No one was harder on Aaron than he was on himself.
Aaron was a free spirit, living and dying by his own rules. He loved to laugh and joke around. His family is comforted knowing that he is now truly at peace, finally able to be free of his troubles and be the son he always hoped to be to his mother, Ponnie. At his core Aaron was good man and he will be missed by many.
