Anna Mahurin

Barbara Mahurin, 77, of Sweeny passed from this life on October 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to William and Marie Montgomery.
Barbara was known to everyone as Momo. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School secretary, member of the church choir, vacation bible school teacher, official tea maker, and known by the kids at church as the "Candy Lady". She was a lady of many talents and she enjoyed helping others. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at 10 am at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Bro. Kenny James officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Rick Gower, Johnny Ramirez, Clifford Cater, Paul Ashley, Michael Cole, and Martin Zaragoza. Alternate pallbearers are Coy Sims and Ernie Hutchings. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Edwards, Blackie Fox, and friends and staff at Elmo's Grill.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Mahurin Lowman of Thibadeaux, La. and B.D. Mahurin & wife, Becky of Sweeny; brothers, James Montgomery of Farmington, Missouri and Danny Montgomery of Hillsboro, Missouri; sister, Delores Esham of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandchildren, D.R. Mahurin & girlfriend, Kim Miller, Amanda Fiala & husband, Charlie, Anna Speck, Michael Kellough Jr., Brandon Mahurin, Carly Speck, Matthias Mahurin, Macy Rae Mahurin; great grandchild, Colisa Mahurin. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Banjo Mahurin; daughters, Pam "Juice" Mahurin and Tami Mahurin; brother, Leroy Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara's name to Helping Hands and Hearts Hospice in Lake Jackson.
