Aurora Rodriquez, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on January 19, 2024, at her West Columbia home surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 12, 1954, in Victoria, Texas, Aurora lived a life filled with love, joy, and adventure.
Aurora's love story with her soulmate Jesus Rodriquez began on September 3, 1970. They embarked on a beautiful journey together as they raised a loving family and explored the wonders of the world. Theirs was a bond that grew stronger over time and stood the test of 53 remarkable years of marriage.
Aurora had many passions in life. She was an accomplished Badminton player and earned numerous trophies and titles throughout her career. Her dedication to the sport was unmatched and she inspired others with her athleticism and determination. But more than any accolades or achievements, Aurora's proudest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. She poured her heart and soul into raising them to be compassionate individuals who could make a positive impact on the world.
In recent years, Aurora found great joy in raising French bulldogs. These furry companions brought immense happiness into her life and provided her with unconditional love and companionship.
Aurora's warm and caring nature touched the lives of everyone she knew. She had a way of making people feel loved and valued with her kind words and selfless acts of kindness. Her radiant smile lit up every room she entered, leaving lasting impressions on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Aurora is survived by her loving husband Jesus Rodriquez; their daughters Elizabeth May (Terry) of Angleton, Deborah Heathcock (Chris) of Angleton, Jessica Fuller (Chuck) of West Columbia, Jenny Rodriquez (Kristopher) of Dallas and her son Joshua Rodriquez (Delanie), 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Arredondo and Maria Trevino Arredondo, and her brother Arthur Arredondo.
To honor Aurora's memory and celebrate her remarkable life, visitation services will be held at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia on January 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A second viewing will take place on Wednesday January 24 from 9:30-11 A.M. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the same location. Following the service, Aurora will be laid to rest at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia.
Aurora's time with us may have come to an end, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. May we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Aurora and remember the significant impact she had on our lives.
