Bernice Autrey

Bernice Mitchell Autrey, 88 of Brazoria, Texas passed away Friday, September 11, 2015.. She was born March 25, 1927 in Navasota, Texas to George Washington and Beulah (Danford) Mitchell. She not only was our loving mother, but mother to many young people in Brazoria through our dairy mart or church; before becoming a member of Family Life she was very active in First Baptist Church of Brazoria. She was a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her family. Bernice's life heavily revolved around her love for the Lord and her family; but her greatest pleasure was going to the beach. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:00am at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria with Danny Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Glen Autrey, Wayland Autrey, Gabriel Klemin, Mike Eyestone, Zachary Autrey and Brad Ross. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffrey Autrey. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Sherri Autrey; son, Bubba Autrey and wife, Jo Anne; daughter-in-law, Linda Autrey and former daughter-in-law, Ninetta Carol Autrey; 4 grandchildren, Glen Autrey, Wayland Autrey and wife, Rebecca; Rachel Klemin and husband, Gabriel along with Jeffrey Autrey and wife Tara; 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way and other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Earnest Lynn Autrey, brother, George "Sonny Boy" Mitchell, Jr. and husband, Earnest Autrey.
