Bertha Lee Shifflet, 90 of Damon, Texas passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at her home. She was born October 3, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Clarence Edward and Ella Luella (Lindley) Barnett. She received a vocational certificate in nursing. She was married to the love of her life, Pete Shifflett, for over 50 years.
Funeral services will be held 2:30pm, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Burial will follow at Yelderman Cemetery in Damon. Serving as pallbearers will be Micah George, Mark George, Michael Scruggs, Ethan Wallace, Christopher Serna and Bobby Serna. Honorary pallbearers will be United States Army Spc. Aaron George and Gabriel Bishop.
Bertha is survived by daughters, Linda Cantu of Palacios, Carolyn Shifflett and Yvonne Bishop both of Damon; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and brother, Alfred Barnett of Conroe.
She is preceded in death by husband, Morris Wayne Shifflett; son, Donald Edward Stout, parents, Clarence Edward and Ella Lindley Barnett, grandson, James Randall Scruggs and sister, Lola Mae Barnett.
