Bessie Kelly

Bessie Jayne (Smith) Kelly, 87 of Sweeny, Texas passed away at Sweeny Hospital on Thursday, October 29, 2015. She was born July 1, 1928 in Bay City, Texas to James Arthur and Bessie (Nettles) Smith. She worked as a manager at Sears for over 20 years. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Pastor Maurice Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Kelly, Chad Senkyrik, Jay Tatum, Adam Kyle Rooker, Joshua Rooker and Wayne Harvey.

Jayne is survived by sons, Robert Craig Kelly and wife, Carolyn of Canton; William E. Kelly, Jr. and wife, Donna of Beaumont; daughters, Jodi Hopkins and husband, Rex of Sweeny; Carrie Kelly of Houston and Judy Dulaney of Sweeny; along with sister, Jean Ann Tatum of Wadsworth. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Kelly, Sr, her parents, her daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth Hausler, sisters, Gloria Harvey and Anita Senkyrik and brother, James Smith, Jr.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Sweeny Hospital and Amed Hospice for their loving care and support of mom in her final hours.
