Billie Sue Dumesnil

West Columbia and the surrounding communities celebrate the life of a beloved community member, Sue Dumesnil.  Sue’s sunrise was January 28, 1925, in West Columbia, TX, her sunset was on April 25, 2024, at her Lake Jackson home at the age of 99. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully passed into the arms of the Lord.

 Sue was a dedicated individual who devoted an impressive 50 years of her life to Tri-Con as a secretary. Her commitment and hard work have left a lasting impact on those she worked with and the organization she served.

In her personal life, Sue was known for her unwavering support for the Houston Astros. Her passion for the team reflected her enthusiastic personality and love for sports.

Her education began at Columbia High School, where she graduated with the class of 1943. This set a foundation for a successful career and a life filled with cherished memories.

Sue's family brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Erwin (The late Paul) of Fred, TX; granddaughter Diana Lynn Holub (Willie) of Santa Fe, TX; nephew John LaFleure;  niece Jonny Kauffman and niece Peggy Hutson (Gary).

She is preceded in death by her parents Anna and Johnny Wakefield Wilkerson and siblings Sonny, Audrey, Skeet, Loyce & Anna Merle. Their memories will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew Sue.

The services to honor and remember Sue Dumesnil will be held on Friday May 3, 2024, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia. The visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by the funeral service from 3:00 PM. The interment will follow at Old Columbia Cemetery.

In closing, Sue Dumesnil will be fondly remembered as a kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many with her warmth and dedication. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
