Billie Ruth Kirkham, beloved wife and mother Billie Ruth Kirkham, 63, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at her Rosenberg home with her family by her side. Billie was born January 23, 1952, in Sugar Land, TX, to Billie Glen Mitchell and Earlene Ruth Mitchell of Rosenberg. In 1956, Billie's family moved to Rosenberg, where Billie graduated Lamar Consolidated High School in 1970, and then attended college part-time. Celebrating 42 years of marriage this year, Billie and Scott have resided in the Rosenberg community their entire lives. Billie was very active in the community, presenting her forefather's Native American Indian heritage display to elementary schools in the area. Billie was employed by the Texas Department of Corrections in Sugar Land for 10 years, and then left to pursue her bookkeeping services from home to spend more time with her family. She found her true calling 8 years ago as a social skills coach and mentor, working with autistic young adults. Billie is survived by her husband, Scott Kirkham, her children, Troy Terry and Fawn (Kirkham) Preuss, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, Sister Terry Felcman, relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Billie Glen Mitchell of Brazoria, TX, her mother, Earlene Ruth Mitchell of Rosenberg, TX and her nephew, David Paul Jackson of Guy, TX. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Drive, West Columbia, TX. Honorary pallbearers are: Troy Terry, Chad Preuss, Donnie Meyer, Lloyd Rowland ("Burrr"), Joel Zaluska, and Tyler Sharum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, Texas 77030
