Bruce Burnett, Jr.

Bruce Daniel "Dan" Burnett went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2017. He was born on June 24, 1942 to the late Bruce and Ola Burnett of Jasper, Texas . He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He retired from TDCJ after 14 years. He had many other jobs as well. He loved fishing, hunting and making things with his hands.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his in laws, Sam & Nita Boone, brother in law, Sam Boone Jr., sister and brother in law, Danielle and Sheirl Womack. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joann Boone Burnett, son, Stephen Burnett (Alona) of Angleton; daughter, Sharon Burnett Huffman (Robert) of Bay City; five grandchildren, Brittany Wagner (Albert) of New Caney, Samantha Brown (Lance) of Clute, Shelby Shaver (Matt) of Angleton, Daniel Huffman of Bay City, and Savannah Huffman of Bay City; six great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Cash Wagner of New Caney, Aiden and Landon Bennett of Clute, Paisley Brown of Clute and Kade Shaver of Angleton; sisters, Marion McMullin (Jimmy) of Spring, Johnny Ruth Ener (Don) of Houston and Charlotte Leddy (Stephen) of Fort Worth; brother in law, Kenneth Boone (Peggy) of Columbia Lakes; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Pallbearers are Robert Huffman, Daniel Huffman, John T. Mullins, Darren Boone, Lloyd Brown and John Pyle. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Mullins, Lou Larson, Roger Shugart, Larry Voncannon, Ronnie Woods, Matt Shaver and Jimmy McMullin.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria on Monday, July 24, 2017. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Brazoria on July 25, 2017 at 10:00 am with Bro. Greg Smith and Bro. Carl Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dan's name to the Student Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church of Brazoria.
