Carl Louis Tichacek, Sr.

Born March 30, 1944, passed March 13, 2025. Carl was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, trapping, and gardening were among his many hobbies. He was well known for his green thumb and trapping skills, everything he touched was sure to bloom beautifully and any animal he set out after was sure to be caught. Carl retired from the City of Freeport after 33 years of service. In his retirement he could be found most days at his ranch where he enjoyed checking his game cameras and tending to his doves.

Carl is preceded in death by his father and mother John and Helen Tichacek. Wife Margret Tichacek. Brothers Johnny Tichacek and Charles “Bubbin” Tichacek. Grandsons’ Carl “Trey” Tichacek 3rd and Mark Tichacek.

Carl is survived by his sons Carl Tichacek Jr, and Donnie Phillips. Daughter Vickie (Juan) Terrazas. Siblings Carolin Harris, Joe Tichacek, and Patricia Prigge. Grandchildren Sean (Kaelyn) Tichacek, Tabatha (Connor) Frnka, Christi Poenitzsch, Hayven Tichacek, Richard Jones, Donny Byrd and Chelsea Medrano. Great grandchildren Jade and Amberlynn. Graveside services to be held at Gulf Prairie Cemetery on March 21, 2025 at 10AM in Jones Creek, Texas.
