Charles Powell

Charles Powell, 87, of West Columbia passed from this life on Feb. 16, 2017 in Houston. He was born in Bradley, Arkansas to Byrd & Ethel Powell on Dec. 27, 1929.

Charles enjoyed gardening, outdoor cooking and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and was the biggest presence and rock of his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was their "Poppie."

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bonnie; children, Eddie Powell & wife, Cindy, R. B. Powell & wife, Pam , and Regina Gray; brother, B. J. Powell & wife, Sharron; grandchildren, Kara Gore & husband, Raymond, Josh Powell & wife, Amber, Zane Gray & wife, Bre, Jerud Powell, Leslie Carter & husband, Bo, Emily Gray, and Nancy K. Sims & husband, Chad; and 14 precious great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his in laws, Jake & Mildred French.
