Charles Elroy Tielke, Sr. was born in Ganado, Texas, on February 2nd, 1931. He peacefully passed away while surrounded by family at home in West Columbia on January 12th, 2021 at the age of 89.
Happily married to Donna Delores Tielke on January 26th, 1952, they had two sons and a daughter.
Graduating from Needville High School, he went on to proudly serve in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955. He then retired from the US Postal services and, later, the West Columbia Volunteer Fire Department. Unable to sit still, he thoroughly enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing dominoes, and building various items from bird houses to tin men. You would never find him without a loving smile and hearty laughter.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Emma Tielke; wife, Donna Tielke; son, John Frederick Tielke; and grandson, Jason LaPointe.
He is survived by his three children, Charles (Chuck) Tielke, Jr. and wife, Jocelyn, Jody Tielke and wife, Darlene, and Perri LaPointe and husband, Dale; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at C. T. Bake & Sons Funeral Home with Kenny James officiating. Burial will follow at Needville Public Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am until service time.
