Christine Walker

Christine Walker, 89 of Sweeny, Texas passed away at her home on Monday, November 14, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born January 25, 1927 in Escambia County, Alabama to Arthur and Irene (Petty) Cunningham. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, granny and great-grandma to her family whom she enjoyed spending time with. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sweeny.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Sweeny with Pastor John Price officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00am until service on Thursday, at the church. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Chasak, Christy Wiens, Darin Dillard, Darrin Wiens, Rex Chasak, Johnny Scarborough, Alan Foley and Billy Bona. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Burns and Pat Preas.

Christine is survived by her son, Scott Walker and wife, Jackie of Sweeny, daughters, Diane Chasak and husband, Rex of Houston; and Linda Dillard of Sweeny; sister, Olivette Williams of Virginia; grandchildren, Alan Chasak and wife, Edina of Plano, Christy Wiens and husband, Darrin of Brenham, and Darin Dillard and wife, Jennifer of Richwood; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Zane, and Axel Chasak of Plano and Justin Wiens of Brenham.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Virles, her son, Jimmy Wayne Walker and her parents.

The family would also like to thank the caregivers that took such good care of our Mom. Thank you Frances Schmidt, Gladys Thompson, Olivia Vargas, Laura Ramirez, and Cheryl Butler for all that you did for our mom. A special thank you to our Hospice nurse Christy Jakubec.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sweeny.
