Corina Garcia

Corina R. Garcia passed away January 14, 2017 at her residence in Sweeny, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 11, 1933 in Runge, Texas and was the daughter of Julio and Luz (Chavez) Rodriguez. Corina was raised in Portland, Texas where she grew up with her future husband, Henry R. Garcia. They were married on March 20, 1952. Out of their union, Corina and Henry were blessed with 4 children; Carrie, Cynthia, Hector and Homer.

Christmas was her favorite holiday. She always had the house decorated and there were always home cooked meals on the table for all who visited. Entering her home was always peaceful and a wonderful escape. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sweeny, Texas where she volunteered at the Catholic Bazaars until she fell ill. She loved God, her husband, children and family unconditionally. There are no words to describe her everlasting joy and adoration towards her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Sweeny with Father Lee Flores officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Gregory Cemetery in Gregory, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Richard J. Perez, Johnny Ray Liserio, Jr., Jeremy Liserio, Jason Liserio, Cody Dupont, Mike Wetzel and Sean Kimbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be her great- grandsons; Henry Calvillo, Anthony Calvillo, Richard Jamal Perez, Alexander Perez, Johnny Ray Liserio III, Julius Ray Liserio, Zachary Liserio, Ethan Dupont, Colt Kimbrough, Caleb Garcia, Cory Wetzel, Bryson Ruelas, Jaxon Mann, and Jacob Mann.

Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son in law, Johnny Ray Liserio Sr.; several brothers and sisters; and her great-granddaughter, Angel Corina Liserio.
She is survived by her daughters, Carrie (Garcia) Liserio and Cynthia (Garcia) Calvillo (Ernest) and her sons, Hector R. Garcia (Florence) and Homer R. Garcia (Dorothy); 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rosa Garcia; Mary Barrera; and Lupe Brown; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Our precious mother may have passed, but she will continue to live on in our hearts.
