Curtis Wayne Philpot was born on August 3, 1959 in Brenham, Texas. He was the 3rd child of four children born to Martin and Betty Philpot. He passed away on September 8, 2020 at his home in Jackson, Mississippi.
Curtis grew up in West Columbia, Texas and attended Columbia High School, class of 1978. Curtis could sell ice to an Eskimo! He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending good times laughing and telling stories with his friends and family. He loved motorcycles, fast cars, and a good whiskey! He spent many years in sales at various car dealerships in Brazoria County and surrounding area before relocating to Jackson, Mississippi where he was in sales at Jackson Harley Davidson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm until service time. Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Philpot, Jr., Rudy Lackey, Chad Hathcock, Pecos Beal, D.Wayne Beal, David Pennington, Homer Orr, Bird Lee, Michael Carson, and friends, customers, and coworkers at Harley Davidson, Jackson, Mississippi.
Curtis is survived by his brother, Martin Philpot, Jr. of Richwood; sisters, Donna Pennington (David) of Lubbock, and Tami Beal (D.Wayne) of West Columbia; nieces, Amber Bjerregaard (Johannas), Kylea Fuchs (Randall), Lauryn Shands (Tayler), Roxanne Huddleston (Rory), and Rachael Frazier (Matt); nephews, Aaron Pennington and Bret “Pecos” Beal; stepfather, Dennis Dorsey of Texas City; aunt, Betty Owen of Kilgore; dear friend, Laura Reeves; along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and MANY dear other friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin F. Philpot, Sr. and Betty Jo Dorsey.
He leaves behind his heart broken family and a host of many friends who all loved him dearly! His quick wit and charm kept us all entertained. His absence will leave a huge hole forever in our hearts.
