Edna Louise Joice, beloved mother and grandmother, passed into the arms of the Lord on August 4, 2023, in Sweeny, Texas. She was born on April 4, 1940, in Bay City, Texas.
Family was one of the most important things to Edna. On May 16, 1958, she married the love of her life, Marvin, and remained married for 55 years until his death in 2013. Living in the Sweeny area for the majority of her life, she had two wonderful children, Karen Rydman, and John Joice. While she wasn’t baking or cooking, she enjoyed her 4 p.m. coffee time with her girl group, that they attended every day on the dot. Upon coffee time, you could also find her solving her daily puzzles or playing a game of solitaire. After her kids flew the nest, she found her passion in becoming a sales associate at Target, where she retired from after 20 years.
Edna is survived by her loving family; a son, John Joice of Tomball, daughter, Karen Rydman of Sweeny, sister; Joyce Dorsett of Port Lavaca; grandchildren, Rhesa Resendez of Alvin, Stephanie Koehnlechner and significant other CJ Bosarge, Brandon Joice, and David Joice; great-grandchildren, Mason Douglas, Makenna Resendez, Mylah Recendez, and Hailey Bosarge; along with numerous family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin, and parents Stanley and Anna Sweeny.
