Elanora Matula

Elanora Zeman Matula, 89 of Damon, Texas passed away, Thursday, December 10, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 19, 1926 in Guy to Willie and Caroline Zeman, she married Elvin (Bubba) Matula on May 15, 1948 and together they enjoyed many hunting and fishing adventures.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Chaplain Thomas Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Damon Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm also at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be BJ Urbanek, Lee J. Kovarcik, Garrett Buffington, Chuck Shope, Trey Evans, and Benny Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Boaz, AC Hanly, William (Goat) Crane and Zack Frazier.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Willie and Caroline Zeman; husband, Bubba Matula; and brother, Alfred Zeman.

Elanora is survived by her daughters, Janice Sims of Barksdale; Jean (Guy) Paul of West Columbia; Cynthia (Ram) Reyna of Damon; son, Anthony (Sheila) Matula of Richmond; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jesse) Boaz; Amy (Bryntin) Urbanek, Jenny (Jeremy) Kier, Jarad (Lisa) Matula, and LeAnne Matula; great-grandchildren, Colton Boaz, BJ Urbanek, Makayla Urbanek, Brianna Urbanek, Hunter Kier; she is also survived by her twin sister, Viola Kutej of Clute and youngest sister, Vlasta Smerek of Guy; along with many nieces, nephews and a great many friends and family.
