Gary Eubanks

Gary Franklin Eubanks was born on October 26, 1941, in Winnsboro, LA to Clinton “Woody” and Bertha Eubanks.  He went to school in Fort Necessity and then on to Northeast LA College.  He met and married the love of his life, Linda Sue Trinkle on February 24, 1965.  They had 3 children Renita “DeLane”, Gary “Michael” and Charles “David”.  Gary worked for Dow Chemical for the majority of his career as a Chemical Technician and retired from there in 1993.  He loved gardening, serving in his church, and mostly spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his great-great grandson.  He was always involved in his community, whether it was supporting local sports, politics, or community activities.

Gary left this life and entered into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at home in Sweeny, TX at the age of 80.  He is survived by his sons Michael and wife Lynne and David and wife Denise.  He is also survived by grandchildren BJ McKnight and wife Jimmie Ann, Christopher McKnight and wife Megan, Cory McKnight and wife Mandi, Michael White and wife Reva, Michelle Eubanks, Melinda Lerma and husband Ricky, Kayla Swift and husband Scott, Ryan Eubanks and wife Dana and Colton Eubanks.  He is survived by great-grandchildren Caleb McKnight and wife Tricia, Samantha McKnight, Wyatt and Oliver McKnight, Allie and Aubrey McKnight, Leland, Dixie, and David White, Coleman Lerma, Emily Swift, Kelton and Haisley Eubanks and great-great grandson Damon McKnight.  He is also survived by his brothers Jimmy Eubanks and wife JoAnn, Jody Eubanks and wife Sue, and Tim Eubanks and wife Bobbie, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, “Woody” and Bertha Eubanks, wife Linda Eubanks and daughter DeLane McKnight, by great-grandchildren Dakota White, Kaylee McKnight, and Hunter McKnight.  Also, by siblings, Loyd Eubanks, Louise Parrott, Henry Eubanks, Elton Eubanks, Elvin Eubanks, Edgar “Curly” Eubanks, Edna Jean Carroll, Florine Adcock, Clinton Eubanks Jr, Charles Ray Eubanks, Kenneth Eubanks, infant Marion Eubanks, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Bret McKnight, Christopher McKnight, Cory McKnight, Michael White, Ryan Eubanks, and Colton Eubanks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb McKnight, Leland White, Scott Swift, Ricky Lerma, and Darrell Jones.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.

Funeral services for Gary will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at First Baptist Church Sweeny at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. John Price and Rev. Warren Rayburn officiating. Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
