Gayle Lynette Langner

May 31, 1944 — January 17, 2025

Freeport, TX

Gayle cherishes her husband's devoted companionship and loving care over the years of their marriage.

Gayle's love for her children is unconditional and she taught them compassion, patience, grace and that they can accomplish anything.

Gayle is adored as Oma/MuMu to her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. Her hand-crafted, custom sewn characters, costumes and homemade ice cream show her love to her grandbabies.

Gayle is beloved in the Freeport community for years of service as owner/teacher at the Gayle Vanderhoofven School of Dance that produced multiple performances across Brazosport and gave passionate service to Freeport youth baseball as Team Mom and Board Member.

Gayle was preceded in death by her father Walter Welch, mother Eldeane Stovall and step-father TH Stovall, siblings Debbie Gamble and Steve Welch. Gayle is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years Ocia (Jerry) Langner; her son Wes Vanderhoofven and his wife Beth; daughter Jill Kibodeaux and her husband Karl; Gayle's grandchildren, Nikki Vanderhoofven, Taylor Parsons and his wife Destiney, and Parker Parsons; Gayle's great-grandchildren Elouise Thompson, Ana Parsons and Elsie Gayle Parsons; and siblings Dale Welch, Kathy Menchaca, Larry Welch and Debbie Shoemaker; and many nieces and nephews.

Gayle will join her family at rest at Union Chapel Cemetery in Van, TX with a small intimate service. Gayle will dance in her Eternal home with our Lord.

In lieu of flowers, we who love Gayle ask that a donation be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Shriners, or any children's charity. Please post your memories of Gayle on her Facebook page "Gayle Lynette".
