Gerald Bruinhorst, Ii

Gerald "Jerry" van de Bruinhorst II of Houston, Texas peacefully passed away on January 5, 2017 at the age of 69.

Gerald was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 15, 1947, and moved to Texas in 1965 to attend the University of Houston. Upon graduating, Gerald remained in Houston and worked as a professional musician for his entire career. Music was truly his passion, especially the piano and accordion.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald van de Bruinhorst and Maxine van de Bruinhorst-Gray.

Gerald is survived by his son, Gerald Michael van de Bruinhorst III, and daughter-in-law, Stefanie, of Katy, Texas; his daughter, Katrina van de Bruinhorst, of Dallas, Texas; and two grandsons, Drake and Hayden van de Bruinhorst of Katy, Texas. He is also survived by brother, Jack van de Bruinhorst and wife, Dianne of Cornville, Arizona; brother, Gary van de Bruinhorst and wife, Trish of Peck, Kansas and cousin, John Schellenberger and wife, Janet of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church(3511 Yoakum Blvd. Houston, Texas 77006) 11:00am, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in Houston, Texas with Father Christopher Xanthos and Father Gabriel Gadah of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church officiating, with burial following at Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny, Texas. A viewing will be at the church from 10:00am until service time. Arrangements are by the Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas.
