Gerald Anderson Jordan

November 26, 1938 — March 16, 2025

League City, TX

Gerald “Jeep” Anderson Jordan peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on March 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, Jeep’s life was a testament to his deep love for his family and his unwavering commitment to those he cared for. He shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with Ruby Nell Black Jordan, and together, they raised four children in Alvin, Texas.

Born on November 26, 1938, in Midlothian, Texas, to Charles W. Jordan and Alice R. Armstrong Jordan, Jeep was the second of four children. His siblings included his older brother Charles and his younger sisters, Nancy and Linda. The family later moved to West Columbia, where Jeep grew up and graduated in the Class of 1957 from West Columbia High School.

Following his graduation, Jeep began his career as a machinist and started his family in Midlothian, near extended family. In the early 1960s, he accepted a job with Monsanto and relocated his wife and two small children to Alvin, Texas, where he spent the remainder of his working life. Jeep dedicated his days and nights to the maintenance department as the rotating equipment specialist at the Chocolate Bayou Chemical Plant, ensuring equipment ran smoothly and minimizing flares.

While in Alvin, Jeep and Ruby were blessed with two more children. Outside of work, Jeep had a deep passion for the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and supporting youth sports. He was known for being able to build or fix anything for friends and family. As he grew older, his life became even richer with the arrival of his grandchildren, and he treasured being involved in their many activities. Jeep was also known for his woodworking skills, creating and gifting countless beautiful pieces for friends and family.

Jeep’s legacy is one of love, kindness, patience, and gentleness. He leaves behind cherished memories that will forever remind us of the importance of these values.

He is preceded in death by his parents and all three of his siblings.

Jeep is survived by his beloved wife Ruby; children Terrie Cambiano (Mark), Chuck Jordan, Lindy Kimmel (Shannon), and Jennifer Morgan (Lance); grandchildren Ashley Burton, Micah Cambiano, Madeline Kimmel (Nick Pugh), Hunter Kimmel, Abigail Morgan, and Nicholas Morgan; great-grandson Brody Burton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
