Gerald Palmer

Gerald Maurice Palmer, 68 of Brazoria, Tx. left his earthly home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2017 while surrounded by his family. Gary was born on April 28, 1949 to M.E. Palmer and Margery (Mumm) Palmer in Belleville, Kansas where he was raised until age 7.
He became a Texas resident in 1956 when his family moved to Lake Jackson. Gary and his wife Sharon met in Jr. High school and graduated together from Brazosport High School. They were married on April 13, 1968 and remained so for the next 49 years.

Gary began working for the Security Department of The Dow Chemical Company in September of 1969. He retired from Dow in 2001 and opened a restaurant, Three P's in a Pod, with his family. He also worked security at the Port of Freeport from 2005 until 2011.

Gary became a member of Wild Peach Community Church in 2005, during which time he rededicated his life to God and became hungry for His word. He was dedicated to helping anywhere he could, was an active member of the men's group, and earned his Associates Degree in Divinity. His proudest moments as an ordained minister were when he baptized his grandson and officiated at the marriage of his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his son Michael Shane, great grandson Colton Michael, his mother Margery (Mumm), grandparents, his mother and father in -law, and his brother in law.
Gary is survived by his wife Sharon Palmer, son Shannon Palmer (Kandy), daughter Misti Roy (W. T.), and daughter in law Debbie Palmer, grandchildren, Christopher Palmer (Stephanie), Kara Prihoda (Jonathan), Tyler Palmer, Kassidy Palmer, Mallori Roy, Amanda Palmer, Branson Roy, and Caleb Palmer, his great grandchildren, Avery Prihoda, Shelby Palmer, McKenna Prihoda, and Wyatt Palmer, his father M.E. Palmer (Maryann), sister Kathy Sharp, sister Lynda Williams (Paul), and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor the life of Gary Palmer will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Wild Peach Community Church, 1862 CR. 347 Brazoria, TX with Pastor Earl Breazeale officiating.
