Gilbert Schlitzkus

Gilbert Charles Schlitzkus, 81, of Lake Jackson, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1936 in Damon, Texas to John and Annie (Klinkovsky) Schlitzkus.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 15, 2018 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Pastor Josh McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 1:00 pm until service time. Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Joe Schlitzkus, Charles Schlitzkus, Greg Korenek, Kevin Wallace, Carson Ohlen, and Chad Smith.

Gilbert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Schlitzkus; daughter, Sheree Schlitzkus, son, Jeffery Schlitzkus (Heather); grandchildren, Austin Schlitzkus (Jessyln) and Gabrielle Schlitzkus; and sisters, Anita Korenek (Harold) and Dorothy Elster.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Herbert and James Schlitzkus; mother-in-law, Lorene Ellison; sister-in-law, Sandy Schlitzkus; brothers-in-law, Deryl Hobbs and Harold Elster; and nephew, Nicky Stewart.
