Gladman Lapointe

Gladman Joseph LaPointe, 81 of West Columbia, Texas passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Wilkerson officiating.

Gladman was born on May 14, 1934 in Orange, Texas to Howard and Eunice LaPointe; and lived a very fulfilled life as a provider for his family. He was a Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He married Gaynelle Comeaux on January 27, 1962 and they had been married for 51 years until her passing in December, 2013.

Gladman enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, going on car rides with his loving wife along the beach; he also enjoyed his wife's home cooked meals along with spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Gaynelle; his parents, Howard and Eunice LaPointe, grandson, Derek LaPointe and grandson, Jason LaPointe.

He is survived by his 4 sons, Dale LaPointe and wife, Perri of West Columbia; Barry LaPointe and wife, Kay of Lake Jackson; Eric LaPointe and wife, Jeanene of West Columbia; Howard LaPointe of Alvin;2 daughters, Jeanie Dase and husband, Roy of Crosby and Jennifer Brown and husband, Chess of San Marcos; along with brothers, Alvin LaPointe and Herbert LaPointe and wife, Cathy both of Orangefield. He also had 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
