Gladys Sutherland

Gladys Bernice Sutherland, 91 of West Columbia, Texas passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016. She was born January 10, 1925 to Frank and Vlasta (Maresh) Schovajsa. She was a homemaker and a member of the West Columbia Church of Christ.

Graveside services will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg with Pastor David Weaks officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Tielke, Ronnie Mitchell, Mike Bendit, Patrick Parker, Matt Grandjean and Duane Sutherland.

Gladys is survived by son, Ronald J. Sutherland and wife, Ann of West Columbia; daughters, Debra Lanehart of West Columbia; Sandy Sutherland of Rosenberg and Cindy Grandjean and husband, Brett of Boerne; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother, Dan Schovajsa and wife, Ruth; sisters, Ruth Hanzelka, Ruby Bitner and Bernice Koenig along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Sutherland; brother, Irwin Schovajsa and sister, Elsie Luksa.
