Herbert Yackel

Herbert J."Pete" Yackel, 82 of Brazoria, Texas went to be with his loving wife of 65 years, Rita Yackel on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 8, 1933 in El Campo, Texas to Jessie and Verna Lou (Lampkin) Yackel. He spent his early years in the Oil Field and was self employed in the trucking business and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brazoria.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, July 18, 2016 at Baker Funeral Chapel in West Columbia with Father Tin Pham officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time.
Herbert is survived by sons, Michael Yackel and Mary of Lake Jackson; Patrick Yackel and Lupie of Santa Fe; daughters, Cyndie Lyster and Charles of Brazoria; and Lynette Rhodes and David of Angleton; brothers, George Yackel and Lydia of Louise, Tx and Ronnie Yackel and April of El Campo; sister, Katy Dickerson and Larry of El Campo along with 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Jo Yackel; his parents; and brothers, Jessie, Billy, and Jimmy Yackel.
