Jack Lee King, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024. He was 84 years old.
Jack was born on May 30, 1939 to Levi and Agnes King. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for understanding how things worked, which led him to pursue a career in electrical engineering. After graduating from Davis High School, Jack furthered his education at the prestigious University of Texas, where he honed his skills and earned his degree.
Jack's beloved wife, Fran, passed away before him, but her love and memory remained ever-present in his heart.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Chloe Greuel and late husband, Jeff, his son, Jack Jr., his stepdaughters, Robin Hail and husband Mike, and Amy Patterson and husband Todd. Jack will be remembered as “Papa Jack” to his grandchildren, Zachary King, Alana Sawyer and husband, Wesley, Meredith Dietrich and husband, Justin, Jordan Hail and wife, Emily, Darian Schmeltekopf and husband, Eric, Emily Conner and husband, Billy, MacKenzie Moncure and husband, Cody, Madeleine Howell and husband Jonathan. Jack will also be remembered and missed by his 11 great grandchildren.
Jack is also survived by his sister, Billie Johnson and her husband, Bob, along with many nieces and nephews.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jack was a loving husband, father, and friend. He cherished spending time with his family, whether sharing meals together, or simply enjoying each other's company. Jack's willingness to lend a helping hand was evident throughout his life.
A lifelong learner, Jack had a passion for music and books, especially his Bible, which he read daily. Tinkering in his barn, attending church, and enjoying a spicy meal were part of his daily routine. He was a man of few words and simple treasures.
A graveside service will be held at Old Columbia Cemetery at 16th & Jackson Street, West Columbia, Texas at 1:30pm on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Jack's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
