Jacquelyn Jenkins

Jacquelyn Weems Jenkins, a longtime resident of West Columbia, Texas, died Tuesday the 14th of May at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Bay City, Texas on January 19th, 1942 to Jack and Phyllis (Gupton) Weems. Jackie graduated from Columbia High School in 1960. She then went to attend North Texas State University where she met the love of her life, Harry B Jenkins and they married in 1963.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Columbia United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Kethley officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Samuel Jenkins and Harrison Longoria; brother, Steve Weems; and nephews, Mike Hail, Matt Wallace and Austin Weems.

Jackie is survived by her sons, Nick Jenkins and wife Deanna, and Chris Jenkins and wife Stephanie; daughter, Hara Whitehouse; grandchildren, Allison, Samuel, Tara, Harrison, Ashton and Olivia; mother, Phyllis Gupton Weems; sisters, Fran King and husband Jack, and Mary Hill; brother, Steve Weems and wife Rhonda; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Harry; father, Jack Weems; and her sister, Margo Weems Giesie.

Jackie had a love for the game of golf. She was a long-time member of the Columbia Lakes Women's Golf Association where she made many lifelong friends.
