James Adams

James William Adams, 87, of Brazoria, Texas, passed on to his new heavenly life on December 30, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, officiated by Pastor Holly Stone.  Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins.

James was born on March 7, 1935, in Indianola, Oklahoma to Benjamin Franklin Adams and Drucilla Elizabeth Delozier.  James served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957 and later shaped his career as a self-employed entrepreneur.  He was a faithful Christian, a mentor, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved fishing and spoiling his grandbabies in his spare time.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mae Adams of 59 years, sisters Olga Yates, and Elsie Lucille Ballard, and brother Benny Roy Adams.

He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Stone, Freda Bryant, Lois Lightfoot, and brother, Cleo Adams, his four children, Diane Terrell Garza and husband Steven, Jim Adams and wife Kim, Lee Adams and wife Missy, Jerry Adams and wife Pam, and honorary daughter, Holly Stone, his nine grandchildren Michael James (Jamie) Perry and wife Tracy, Jeremy Perry and wife Megan, Amanda Adams, Chris Adams and wife Kelli, Kevin Adams, Leakay Starcher and husband Sean, Julie Reese and husband Ragin, Cassandra Quisenberry, Cody Adams, Tiffany Knightstep and husband Rylan, and 17 great-grandchildren, Haven, Hanna, Mackenzie, Madison, Brooklyn , Riley, Aiden, Alivia, Colby, Cashton, Oliver, Haylie, Cheyenne, Payton, Hunter, his beloved friend Maribelle Adame, and host of friends and loved ones who were impacted by his legacy of love and faith.
