James Darrell

Jim Darrell, 76, of Sweeny, Texas passed away June 19, 2016. Jim was born in Phillips, Texas on February 19, 1940 to Raymond and Roxy (Rogers) Darrell. He married the love of his life, Judy Langley on March 28, 1959 in Phillips, Texas. They were married 57 years. He was an active member of New Shores Baptist Church. Jim worked for Phillips 66 for 40 years. He retired to enjoy his family. Jim was an active member of the community. He was a member of the Sweeny Volunteer Fire Department and a reserve officer for the Sweeny Police Department.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at New Shores Baptist Church in Sweeny at 10:30am with Pastor BJ McCurdy officiating.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara; and sister in law, Teresa.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Bryant & wife, Yvonne, James & wife, Kim; brother, David; brother in law, Carroll & wife, Elaine; brother-in-law, Don Ham; sisters in law, Shirley & Nealby Simpson, Jean & Ken Honaker; grandchildren, Robert Darrell, Christopher Darrell, Heather & Joe Mendez, Katie & Jason McClanahan, Kellie Darrell, and Caleb Darrell; 2 great-grandchildren, Renee Mendez and Joe III Mendez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim loved the Lord and his family. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and PawPaw. The grandkids and great-grandkids adored him.
