James Ray Prihoda

February 6, 1957 — December 6, 2024

Brazoria, TX

James Ray Prihoda, born on February 6, 1957, in Angleton, Texas, passed away on December 6, 2024, at his residence in Brazoria, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

For many years, James dedicated his career to the Oil & Gas industry as a welder and fabricator, where his hard work and dedication earned him respect and admiration. However, beyond his professional accomplishments, James's proudest achievement was his family. His love and devotion to his wife, Kathy Ann (Yancey), and their children were evident in all he did. He took immense joy in cheering on his children, son Jason Prihoda and his wife Lisa, daughter Jenna Kolanski and her husband Thomas, son Jared Reynolds and his wife Lisa, son Jace Reynolds and his wife Amanda, and daughter Jennifer and her husband Darren, all of whom carry on his legacy with pride.

James was also a devoted grandfather, showering affection on his beloved grandchildren, Austin Prihoda, Kaitlyn Prihoda, Callie Kolanski, Jared Reynolds, Jr., Alexeyev Martinez, and Larissa Reynolds. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and his laughter filled the room during their time spent together.

In addition to his immediate family, James leaves behind siblings Johnny Prihoda, Laverne Broadway, Betty Prihoda, Larry Prihoda, Greg Prihoda, Barbara Prihoda, and Patricia Harriss, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his vibrant spirit. His personality shone brightly; he was always the first one talking smack, bringing humor and warmth that infused joy into the lives of those around him.

James enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. His love for hunting and fishing was matched only by his unwavering support for his favorite sports teams, the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. These hobbies allowed him moments of tranquility when he could connect with nature and share spirited discussions about the games he loved.

As we gather to celebrate his life, Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 10, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia, Texas. This will be followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Sweeny Cemetery.
