James Winthrop, Sr.

James L. Winthrop Sr., 74, of Brazoria passed from this life on June 25, 2019. He was born on May 2, 1945 in Lufkin to Jesse T. & Ruby V. Winthrop.

James worked as a foreman for Dow Chemical for 29 years in the polyglycol unit. After his retirement in 1997, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 am at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria with Ernie Hutchings officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8 pm. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Teal Winthrop, Dustin Danford, Kyle Roy, Steve Franklin, Joshua Winthrop, & Tommy Winthrop.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, James L. Winthrop Jr., Angela Danford & husband, Clif, & Jocelyn Hutchings & husband, Ernie; grandchildren, Teal Winthrop, Amanda Danford, Dustin Danford & wife, Jene, Callie Roy & husband, Kyle; brothers, Jerry Winthrop & wife, Betty & Tommy Winthrop & wife, Ellaina; sisters, Sondra Winthrop, Debbie Winthrop, & Netha Winthrop; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Margaret Winthrop.
