Janet Jean Lyman of Damon was guided into the arms of the Lord on November 4, 2023. She was born on May 13, 1955, in Fort Moore, Georgia to Janette Broughton and Floyd Dale Gulling Sr.
Jean obtained an associate degree in cosmetology and went on to become a highly respected and admired instructor in the field. Beyond her professional achievements, Jean was known for her bright and bubbly personality. She had an infectious energy that brought joy to those around her. Jean cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. As a doting grandmother, she constantly showered them with love and affection.
In her free time, Jean enjoyed various recreational activities such as fishing, country dancing, swimming, and camping. These hobbies brought her immense happiness and allowed her to appreciate nature's beauty. Known for her adventurous spirit, she never missed an opportunity to explore the great outdoors.
She is survived by her children Scottee McIntire (Ercil) of Damon, Steven McIntire (Christy) of Sweeny, Jennifer McIntire (George) of Damon, Shawn McIntire of Damon, siblings Robin Riner and Kitty Engelhardt, grandchildren; Allyssa Volarik, Layla Smith, Robert Bowers, John Bowers, Rebecca Bowers, Summer Bowers, Jillian McIntire, Travis McIntire; as well as eight great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jean is preceded in death by her mother Janette Broughton, stepfather Orville Miller, and Father Floyd Dale Gulling Sr., and grandson Dustin McIntire.
Throughout her life, one of Jean's proudest accomplishments was being a grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding the younger generations, leaving behind an everlasting impact on their lives. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue through her family for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday November 10th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday November 11th from 9:00 to 10:00 am at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service begins at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Guy Public Cemetery in Guy, Texas.
Janet Jean Lyman will forever be remembered for her unwavering dedication as a cosmetology instructor, her vibrant personality that brought light into the lives of others, and her unconditional love for her family. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she made a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.
