Jerry 'Wayne' Huffman

 Jerry Wayne Huffman, 57 of Brazoria passed away in his sleep January 14, 2025. He was born July 13, 1967, in Freeport, Texas to Jerry Dean and Joyce Elizabeth (Burke) Huffman. Those close to him knew him as “Wayne-O” or simply just “Wayne”. 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 30 years, Roberta Smith-Huffman of Sweeny. Mother Joyce (Burke) Huffman of Brazoria, Son; Joshua D Huffman and girlfriend Jessica Bilbrey of Brazoria, Daughter Jessica and husband James Almond of Sweeny, Son Jaison Huffman and wife Haley Huffman of Brazoria, and Granddaughters; Lillian Huffman, Jessalyn Almond and Joyce Almond, Sister Alice and husband Robert Simmons of Lake Jackson, Brothers C.E “Skipper” Huffman of Brazoria, Stanley and wife Tracy of Idaho. Along with many nieces and nephews. 

Wayne is preceded in death by his father Jerry D. Huffman, granddaughter Jaxie, grandparents and his uncle Cliffton Huffman. 

Wayne was a Jack of all trades, though his true passion was carpentry. There aren’t many places around Brazoria you could go that he hasn’t either built a house or worked on one. Wayne was a carpenter for 35 years. He built many homes and never once used blueprints. He was a visionary when it came to building things, he would see it in his head and bring it to life. There may not be many pictures of Wayne because when you were with him it was too easy to live in the moment and have a good time. Wayne not only taught his own children how to kneeboard, but there also wasn’t a kid who came to his house who didn’t learn how to kneeboard. If they didn’t want to get behind the boat Wayne showed them how to drive his boat. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday January 25th from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia.  His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Smith officiating.  Interment will be private.
