Jerry Mac Russell, born on November 30, 1954, went to his heavenly home at the age of 64, on June 4, 2019 after he won his battle with pancreatic cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. He was immersed in the Christian faith that would be his lifelong support from an early age.
Jerry was blessed with a loving family. He married his best friend, Janice Nell Russell on June 29, 1974 in Sweeny. Jerry provided for and helped raise his two children. He served his church, First Baptist Church Brazoria, as deacon.
Jerry was always on the lookout for an opportunity and always had time to solve a problem, no matter how small. Jerry made himself available to assist fellow community and church members with whatever the need. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Jerry was an entrepreneur and successfully started and built Switzerland Air, An Extra Attic, and Ice 2 Go; he was proud to service his customers of nearly 38 years. When he wasn't managing his businesses and juggling his many projects, he was passionate about his golf game.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Chris Russell and wife Davida; his daughter, Jennifer Patterson and Fiancé Jason Hillhouse, and his children, Tyler Hillhouse and Jason Hillhouse, Jr.; his grandchildren, Cason and Camon Patterson; and his brothers, Jimmy Russell and wife Vickie, and Bobby Russell and wife Dorothy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis Roy Russell and Vera Myrene Russell.
Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 5 to 7 pm. Family and Friends will gather at First Baptist Church in Brazoria on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 10:30 am to celebrate his life with Brother Greg Smith officiating. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in West Columbia.
The family gratefully declines flowers, but requests donations be made to First Baptist Church Brazoria's Children Ministry for a children's playground. Prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted at www.bakerfuneralhome.net
