John Batts

John Henry Batts, 65, of Wild Peach, Texas went home to be with Jesus, Thursday, April 28, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, Susie Smith Batts, his children, Deborah Michelle Batts and Christopher John Batts, his sister, Pat Leva and her family and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his infant son, John Henry Batts II and his parents, Janet Hoyt and Bobby Batts.


John was born in Pasadena, Texas on December 27, 1950. He proudly served his country for 8 years in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Texas Instruments until his retirement.


He met the love of his life, Susie, and they were married August 1, 1975. They had a life together that was blessed beyond measure with a love and a giving spirit that spilled onto everyone else around them. They were true soulmates.


John enjoyed camping and cooking biscuits and gravy. He made the best brisket you ever had the privilege of eating. John also enjoyed gardening, motorcycle riding, scuba diving, golf, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and playing dominos. He loved to show his affection by teasing you. Most of all, He loved his family and spending time with them.


He loved the Lord and wants everyone to know to never give up. Always keep the faith, no matter what may come your way.


John will forever be loved by those he left behind. He will also be missed by his many friends and family. We will miss all the joy, love, and teasing. His laugh will forever be held precious in our memory of him. We'll see you on the other side, John Henry.
