John A. Stinnett, 96, passed from this life at his home in Brazoria on Dec. 18, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Right, Tennessee to John H. and Ethel Lee Stinnett. He was born and raised in Tennessee and moved to Texas when he was 18 and has lived here ever since. He served in the U S Army Air Corp during WWII. He loved hunting, gardening, outdoors, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dorothy Mimms & husband, John and Debbie Ford & husband, Luther; grandchildren, Howard Mimms, Frank Mimms, Lori Renkar, Sherri Filippi, Paul Stinnett, Bill Ford, Chrissie Gregory, Jason Ford & Stacey Brenek; 19 Great Grandchildren; sister in law, Opal Campbell & husband, Bob; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Stinnett; sons, Paul Wayne Stinnett and Jonnie Stinnett; 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with John Price officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service time on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's name to the Wounded Warriors Project PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
