Katelyn Strother

Katelyn Kristine Strother (Katie-Bug) flew home to heaven at 12:10 pm on June 1, 2016. She was 18 years, 11 months and 3 days. Katelyn blessed her family on July 4, 1997. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clemen Strother Sr., her cousin, Kyle Keith and her paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her mother, Samantha Savoie and step father, Aaron Savoie; father, Brian Oliver, brothers, Coby and Jacob Mitschke and Ben Shipley; grandparents, Diana & Lamar Qualls and Rodney & Sherry Schneider; aunts and uncles, Cheryl Keith & Chris Carmen, John McCain, Shelley & Joseph Burt, James & Carolyn Qualls, Alvie & Ryan Smith, Joshua & Felecia Schneider and Samantha Moos; and numerous other cousins, friends and loved ones.

Katie-Bug was a precious gift of love and laughter from God. She never met a stranger, and never had a mean or hurtful thought. She loved "Frozen," butterflies, and horses. Her favorite colors were purple and pink. She touched the life and heart of everyone she came into contact with.

Our precious angel is gone from us but her hand print will remain eternally on our hearts. A celebration of her life will be held on July 9 2016 with an open house on FM 524 in Sweeny.
