Kenneth Davis

March 1, 1948 — May 1, 2019

Kenneth Alan Davis, 71, of West Columbia and formerly of Edna, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in Sweeny, Texas. He was born on March 1, 1948 in Corvallis, Oregon to Jack and Valnarie (McMeans) Davis. Ken enjoyed his career as a reserve deputy sheriff and jail administrator for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and as an engineer at Mammoet for over 28 years.

One of his life passions was his walk with God, serving the Edna, Texas and Freeport, Texas communities as a minister. In his off time, Ken could be found in his workshop working on small projects that he gave to anyone and everyone he met. But, spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren gave him the fullest enjoyment throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 6, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Brother Leland Rodgers officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm prior to the service also at the funeral home.

Ken is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis; sons, John Davis and wife, Cynthia and William Davis; granddaughters, Genevieve Davis, Madelyn Davis, and Alyson Davis; siblings, Mickey Davis and wife, Barbara and Ann Davis Hall and husband, John; along with sister-in-law, Diane Davis.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Davis; and son, Chris Alan Davis.
