Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Shaw Sr., 71, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home in Pledger, Tx. Kenny was born December 14, 1949 in Wharton, Texas to DeAlbert and Jackie Shaw.
He graduated from Edna High School where he met his wife, Betty Sue Shaw, of 49 years. They went on to have 2 sons, Kenneth Wayne Shaw Jr. in 1972 and Klinton Wade Shaw in 1979. Kenny was a cowboy in every sense of the word. He made his living as a ranch hand at local ranches, he was a farrier and he broke and trained horses. He also worked for the Texas Animal Health Commission for 14 years, where he was a brucellosis inspector. Up until his death, Kenny worked at the WR Nash Ranch as an overseer of the ranch. They don't make cowboys like him anymore, but his cowboy wisdom will be carried on by all that knew him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, DeAlbert and Jackie Shaw; brothers, Albert Dean and Randal Shaw; and son, Klinton Shaw.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Shaw; son, Kenneth Shaw and wife, Kandy of Pledger; grandchildren, Kody Shaw and wife, Paige of Sweeny, Krissy Shaw of Pledger, and Kassey Stedman and husband, Kasey of Brazoria; great- grandchildren Wyatt, Emma and Kyla.
A Celebration of Life for Kenny will Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dixie McGaughey, Joe Bill Weathers, Harold Holton, Earl "Boogie" Shaw, Kody Shaw and Kasey Stedman.
