Linda Kay Walden, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on July 22, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas, Linda lived a life filled with the love of Christ and kindness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Linda, a devoted family woman, along with her daughter Michele, owned and operated two childcare centers in Brazoria and Clute, Texas. This venture not only showcased her Christ-like spirit in nurturing young minds and hearts but also her dedication to fulfilling her daughter’s childhood dream of owning a daycare. To Linda, Christ was her foundation, her family was her pilar, and every child was a gift. She cherished each and every opportunity to positively impact the lives of others, young and old.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Walden; her loving daughter, Michele Morzan Soto (Husband - Enrique); her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Lively (Wife - Amanda), Kyle Lively, and Kendahl Warn; and her great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Kyntlee, Alonna, Grant, and Weston. Her legacy of love extends through the lives she touched and the memories she created with her family.
She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Loretta Jones (Husband - Jerry) and Denise Hedrick (Husband - Mike), who share in the profound loss of this remarkable woman. Linda's gentle spirit and caring nature will live on in the hearts of her family, who will forever remember her passion for animals, particularly her love for dogs, cats, and chickens. Her favorite color, red, symbolized the warmth and vibrancy she brought to everyone she knew.
Linda joins in eternal rest her mother, Opal Hapke; her father, Leonard Buck Hapke; her son, Mark Walden; and her granddaughter, Brooke Lively. They welcome her with open arms, cherishing the moments spent together once more.
A “Celebration of Life” service to honor Linda's life will be held on October 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, where family and friends can gather to celebrate the beautiful legacy, she leaves behind.
