Margaret Foster Sipes Lowery

Margaret "Margie" Foster Sipes Lowery, age 77, of Sweeny, TX passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She was born March 24, 1944, in Kansas City, MO to Reginald and Margaret Sipes.

Margie retired from Phillips 66 on March 01, 2015, after 23 years and 9 months of service to become a cattle baroness.

She was a great supporter of Beefmasters Breeders United (BBU) and Beefmasters Breeders Cattlewomen (BBC) where she served as president making numerous friends for life.

Margie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 873, Sweeny (past) and 705, West Columbia (present) where she held many distinguished offices including Grand Representative to New Mexico.

She loved her sweet lap dog Dewey and spending time with her family and friends.

Margie never met a stranger. If you were a stranger...five minutes later, you were her friend.

Survived by husband Barney A. Lowery of Sweeny, TX, son Matthew Scott Lowery and daughter-in-law Theresa, daughter Leah Jean Rogers and son-in-law Brandon all from West Columbia, TX, sister Liz Brinton of Kansas City, MO, brother Reginald Sipes and wife Judy of Beech Grove, IN, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Lowery Canton of Onalaska, TX, sister Kathy Miller of Overland Park, KS, and brother-in-law Bill Brinton of Kansas City, MO.

Pallbearers are Chance Leopold, Troy Lowery, Nick King, Robbie Morton, Shane Reynolds, Tate Cooper, and Joshua Masters; Honorary pallbearers Tommy James and Johnny Scott.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 01, 2021, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 02, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at New Shores Baptist Church, 6303 FM 1459 Sweeny, TX.  Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny, TX.
