Marie Nichols

Marie Nichols, 84 of Sweeny, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Houston, Texas. She was born January 31, 1932 in Kingsbury, Texas to Sidney Jack and Ima (McQueen) Hoots. She was a business owner as a oil pipe distributor, she loved fishing, painting and dancing.

Memorial services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Chester Sassman officiating. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 1:00pm.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nichols; son, Rodney Workman; mother, Ima McQueen Showers; father, Sidney Jack Hoots; brothers, Marion "Bud" Hoots and Wade Hoots; and sister, Helen Coleman.

She is survived by daughter, Rhonda (Jesse) Crume; daughter-in-law, Nita Workman; grandchildren, Kyle Holton, Ashley (Jeff) Maslak, Chris Holton, Megan (Andrew) Sarclette; great-grandchildren, Lena Maslak, Rachel Maslak, Alyssa Carnahan, and Haileigh Sarclette; nieces, Linda (Keith) Smith and Bonnie Schrader along with many great nieces, nephews and all her special friends from the VFW family.
