Martha Reyes Martinez

Martha Reyes Martinez, 71, of Sweeny Texas, peacefully went with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Martha was born in McAllen, Texas on January 25, 1954 to Elpidio and Oralia Reyes. Her hobbies included gardening, hummingbird watching, collecting knickknacks, going to garage sales, and sitting on her back porch with her husband and blue, their dog. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandbabies, and cooking for loved ones. Martha also spent many years as a private caregiver, and took pride in doing so.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond Z. Martinez Sr. Children; Raymond Z. Martinez Jr, Michelle Anderson (and husband Mike), and Tiffany Vanbeber. Grandchildren; Raymond Z. Martinez III, Samuel Vanbeber Jr, Delzaire Cofield, and Taiya Cofield. Father; Elpido Reyes, sisters; Annie Messer, Rosie Zepeda, Patricia White, Lolita Reyes and brother; Pete Reyes. Along with many nieces and nephews, and beloved pets; Blue and Princess. She is preceded in death by her mother Oralia Reyes, brothers; Gilbert Reyes, Gonzalo Reyes, and nephew; Ismael Zepeda.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Z. Martinez III, Samuel Vanbeber Jr, Jesse Ortega, Joe Z. Martinez III, J-jay Martinez, Frank Martinez, Isaiah Reyes, and Cj Ray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delzaire Cofield, Jasper Martinez, and Zane Zepeda (in memory of his father, Ismael Zepeda)
