Martin J. Williams II (Marty), 67, of Damon, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in Sweeny, Texas after a long illness. Marty was born April 24, 1954, in Germany and was adopted from an orphanage in Pforzeim, Germany.
He attended school in Andrews, Texas and enjoyed playing sports where he excelled in track. He graduated and moved to West Columbia. He began his career in construction. He worked construction from 1975 till his retirement of October 2018.
Marty is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jo Ann Williams; son Martin J. Williams III (Trey); sister Becky; many nieces and nephews who had a special place in his heart; brother-in-law Raymond Keszler; sisters-in-law Maxine Cerney, Doris Wilhelm and husband Shelley, Marie Bannister and husband Jay and Mary Sauls and husband Robert.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at Creekside Christian Fellowship, out by the lake, 16628 TX-36, Needville, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Garcia officiating and guest speakers Mike Pate and Tony George. Interment will be in Yelderman Cemetery Damon, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Forbus, Fred Rubalcaba, Tony George, Jimmy Long, Alan Korenek and Steve Gwinn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Chancey, Sr (deceased), Ricky Foyt, Jimmy Thompson, Brian Denton, Terry Brown, Gary Beach, Randy Doss and Manuel Gonzalez.
Marty enjoyed the outdoors and would like everyone to dress casual and camo if desired.
