Mary Ann Finch

Mary Ann gained her angel wings on August 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She fought hard to overcome her many health issues, but was unable to win that battle, and the Lord called her home.

Mary Ann was born in Angleton, Tx on March 26, 1957, to WH (Dub) Buchanan and Betty Treesh Buchanan. She graduated from West Columbia High School in 1975, then attended Brazosport Jr. College.

Her working days began in 1966 with her family’s firework stand on FM 521. She also worked at Potters Y fruit stand, The Treasure Chest and Texas State Optical. There she met the love of her life, (a Virginia boy) Barry Finch. She later worked at Buc-ees in Brazoria for over 10 years.

Mary Ann and Barry married in 1977, making Brazoria their home. Together they had two children, Bree and Brian. Being the carpenter Barry was, he built her dream home from a picture she cut from a magazine.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Barry Finch, parents Dub and Betty Buchanan, brother Wade Buchanan, sister-in-law Doris Buchanan and brother-in-law Jackie Reid.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Bree Parsons, husband Jeff, and son Brian Finch. Her grandchildren who lovingly called her My G are Micca Risinger and husband Cody, Trayce Quisenberry, Abigail Finch, Masyn Parsons, Jordon Parsons and wife Tiffany, Jenna Parsons, Jacob Parsons and wife Erin, plus 11 great grandchildren, brother Roy Buchanan, sisters Carolyn Young and husband Logan, and Judy Fox, many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.

My G loved her family and enjoyed cooking for, and spending time, with them. She had a fabulous green thumb and enjoyed her plants and keeping a beautiful yard, as well as the Canton trips with the girls.

Come and go visitation will be Saturday, August 17th from 1 to 2 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia.
