Mary Ruth Kilsby, born Mary Ruth Pollard also known by many as “Gee Gee”, age 83, of Brazoria went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 21, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her home.
Mary Ruth was born September 19th,1940 in Bay City, TX. to Walter and Jesse Mae Pollard. She was a strong woman with many talents and held various jobs throughout her life that touched many lives. For many years she and her husband ran Ducroz Bait Camp on the San Benard River. She also worked at Carroll Tractor Company in West Columbia, Texas Instruments and as a gate guard at Phillips 66. She became a bus driver for Columbia-Brazoria ISD and had a special love for all the kids on her routes.
Mary's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her beloved family. She adored each member and wholeheartedly dedicated herself to being there for them at every milestone and event. Her personality radiated warmth and wittiness. She was one that never met a stranger at Walmart or Dollar General on one of her shopping sprees. In her leisure time, Mary found immense joy in simple pleasures such as working in her yard, tending to her plants and flowers and fishing on her pier.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, L.G. "Jeepers" Kilsby, parents Walter and Jesse Mae Pollard, brother Wayne Pollard, son Walter Lance Kilsby, granddaughter Amy Morton. She is survived by her son Ty Kilsby of West Columbia, TX, daughter Lesa Smith and husband Michael of Brazoria, TX, Grandchildren Trey Bowen, James Rambo, Zachery Kilsby, Brandon Lance Kilsby, Brittnie Nicole Chandler, Michael Brayden Smith. Grandson-in-law Edward Tumlinson. Great-grandchildren Avery Estay, Peyton Tumlinson as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, her special buddy Elliot Buchanan.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday July 29, 2024, from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery, West Columbia
Mary will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her warm heart and unwavering dedication to her family. May she rest in eternal peace.
