Matthew Lord

Matthew Hale Lord, 57 years of Jonesboro, TX, passed away Sunday morning August 5, 2018 at home in Jonesboro. He was born September 8, 1960 in Peterborough, New Hampshire, to Norman and Audrey Lord.

Matthew graduated from Waco High School where he was a member of the golf team and the band. He retired from Mrs. Baird's Waco Bakery who he made deliveries for. He met Betsy Brim in 2000 and they were married April 28, 2001 in Waco. Matthew was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton, TX.

Matthew is survived by wife, Betsy (Brim) Lord; sons, Matthew Blake Lord and Thomas Scott Lord of Temple; mother, Audrey Hale Lord; brother, James Lord (Kathy) both of Jonesboro; sisters-in-law, Sherry (Ned) Grassman and Rozanne (Donnie) Thomas both of Brazoria; along with an uncle, numerous aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lord; brother, Michael Lord; and sister, Patricia Lord.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 also at the funeral home with Bro. Andrew Sobites officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Ned Grassman, Donnie Thomas, Burns Phillips, Ronnie Crow, James Shanks, and Andrew Sobites.
