Meldric Landreneau

Meldric Landreneau, 79 of Sweeny, Texas passed away at Sweeny Community Hospital on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. He was born March 13, 1937 in Mamou, LA to Hadley and Olivia (Hollier) Landreneau. He was a member of Sweeny Church of Christ and served as a deacon; also Good Sams RV member; was on the Texas Staff and worked rallies nationwide. He was a retired operator for Dow Chemical.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Sweeny Church of Christ with Ken Hysten and Glen Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am until service time at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Landreneau, Craig Landreneau, Cody Mullins, Jarrett Landreneau, Mike Richmond and Tom Blaine. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Mullins and Joe Garza.

Meldric is survived by his wife, Carolyn Landreneau of Sweeny; children, Jodina Mullins and husband, Kelly, Fred Landreneau and wife, Jeannie; Debbie Richmond and husband, Mike, Dale Russell and wife, Lena; and Mark Russell and wife, Paula; sister, Vercie Harbison and husband, Bob. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Glenna Landreneau and sister, Barbara Fontenot.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sweeny Christian School.
