Melvine Behrend

Melvine Marie Behrend, 88 of Brazoria passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Country Village in Angleton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. Melvine was born November 28, 1928 in Lovelady, Texas to Melvin and Ollie (Cruse) Snell. She was a homemaker and a member of Brazoria First Assembly.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Brazoria First Assembly with Pastor Dale Frankum officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until service time at the Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Smith, Bryan Smith, Marty Miller, Judah Stauffer, Clifton Tarrant and Ronnie Stewart, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Ronnie Stewart, Vernon Stewart, Calvin Stewart, Kenneth Finley and Bobby Hiroms.

Melvine is survived by her daughter, Patsy Smith and husband, Roger; son, Glynn Behrend and wife, Connie; daughter-in-law, Vonnie Behrend; 10 grandchildren, Bradley Smith and wife, Kristal, Bryan Smith, Jenna Gleitz and husband, Trey, Joy Miller and husband, Marty, Glenda Behrend, Kimberly Cozine and husband, Shawn, Charity Ballard and husband, Joey, Judah Stauffer and wife, Holly, Angela Sohrt and husband, Jake and Kelly Groff and husband, Kyle along with 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Behrend, son, Tommy Ray Behrend, parents, Melvin and Ollie Snell, sisters, Christine Merimon, Opal Stewart, Dorothy Brown, and Faye Hiroms; and brother, Charlie Snell.
